Itinerary
Your Samuwa Adventure Safaris driver-guide will pick you up from your accommodation at 05:00hrs, allowing us to beat early-morning traffic in Kampala.
We drive southwards with our first stop at the Equator, where you will enjoy breakfast, take photos, and watch a simple water-flow experiment demonstrating the position of the equator—without using GPS. The area also has souvenir shops and craft stalls.
After a 45-minute stop, the journey continues through beautiful countryside with plantations of bananas, coffee, and cassava. The landscape gradually shifts from flat lowlands to the raised plateau of Kyazanga. We proceed to Mbarara City for lunch.
From Mbarara, the scenery becomes more dramatic—rolling hills, cattle ranches, forests, lakes, and terraced farmlands as we head toward Kabale/Kisoro District, arriving in the evening.
Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Meal Plan: Half Board
After an early breakfast at 06:45hrs, drive to the park headquarters for a briefing before your gorilla trekking adventure, which starts at 08:00hrs.
Bwindi is famous for its mountain gorillas, and trekking them can vary in duration—anywhere from 3–4 hours or more, depending on their movements. The experience includes one full hour in the presence of the gorillas once they are located.
This trek can be physically demanding, but the reward is extraordinary: watching these peaceful, powerful primates interacting in their natural habitat is truly unforgettable.
You will be accompanied by trained rangers for safety, including armed personnel for protection within the forest.
After tracking, return to the lodge to relax and enjoy lunch.
Later in the afternoon, head out for a Batwa Cultural Experience, where you will meet the indigenous forest people (Batwa), learn about their traditions, dances, and ancient lifestyle.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Meal Plan: Full Board
After breakfast, check out and begin your journey back with an en-route lunch in Mbarara.
Along the way, you will pass near Lake Mburo National Park, where you may spot zebras, impalas, and—if you’re lucky—the mighty eland, the world’s largest antelope. These species are unique to Lake Mburo within Uganda.
No stop is made inside the park due to time limitations, but animals are often visible from the roadside.
Continue your drive to Kampala or Entebbe, arriving in the late afternoon or evening—ending your safari with unforgettable memories of Bwindi and the mountain gorillas.
